DVIDS – News – The 17th Training Wing welcomes new commander
GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas — The 17th Training Wing conducted a change of command ceremony at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, June 16.
The 17th TRW welcomed the incoming commander, Col. Angelina Maguinness, and thanked Col. Matthew Reilman for his hard work and dedication over the last two years.
Before joining the 17th TRW, Maguinness served as the Deputy Director for Operations, Joint Forces Headquarters-Cyber, 16th Air Force at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland, Texas, where she was responsible for leading planning efforts to enable Air Forces Cyber component operations on behalf of the Department of Defense, United States Cyber Command, geographic combatant commanders and the United States Air Force, in support of national command authority priorities.
As the 17th TRW commander, Maguinness will be responsible for training, transforming, and empowering more than 14,000 firefighting, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance warriors annually for the United States Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force, Coast Guard and other government agencies and allied nations.
The 17th TRW is composed of the 17th Training Group, 517th TRG, 17th Mission Support Group and 17th Medical Group. The wing also provides support to Army, Navy, and Marine Corps on-base units, as well as seven other partner organizations and Angelo State University’s Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps.
