DVIDS – News – Garrison Wiesbaden hiring booth encourages local national hiring
The U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Workforce Development Division hosted an employment opportunity booth focused on recruiting and hiring local national civilians to work with U. S. Army organizations in Germany and Europe. The booth highlighted career opportunities and current vacancies to those interested and was part of the 60th annual Hessentag State Fair, which recently took place in Pfungstadt.
Hosting a hiring booth outside the installation’s gates and in the German community helps amplify the work the U.S. Army does in Europe, while also showcasing a variety of job opportunities local nationals can qualify for.
“It was a success all along the line, and we are very interested in maintaining such a stand at future Hessentag fairs,” said Thomas Schulze, division chief of the Garrison’s Workforce Development Division.
The U.S. Army offers local nationals many opportunities for employment in technical and commercial fields, such as administration, construction, engineering, and transportation — all at varying levels of responsibilities and compensation.
The stand was situated on the Platz der Bundeswehr, the place of the German Armed Forces and is a strong example of the level of cooperation and friendship the USAG Wiesbaden and Landeskommando Hessen (Hesse State Command) share.
“I would like to thank the USAG Wiesbaden Workforce Development Division for their commitment to the Hessentag(…) I received so much positive feedback from the visitors to the Platz der Bundeswehr,” said Landeskommando Liaison Officer Petra Heger.
“I really enjoyed working with the team,” added Heger.
Human resource representatives from the 2nd Theater Signal Brigade, Corps of Engineers Europe District, U.S. Army Europe & Africa Civilian Personnel Division, 6981st Civilian Support Group and 405th Logistics Readiness Center also staffed the booth.
If you are interested in becoming a local national employee for the U.S. Army, you can visit the MultiNational Recruitment System (MNRS) at https://stageportal.chra.army.mil/mnrs for more information, job postings and to submit applications.
Next year’ Hessentag will be hosted in Fritzlar, in the north of Hesse, from May 24 – June 2, 2024.
