Renowned Reservist Cpl. Melvin Irizarryreyes, a rifleman with, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Division, at Fort Campbell, Dec. 23, 2023. The Smyrna, Tennessee-native joined the Selected Marine Corps Reserve to serve his country and a become a part of the Marine Corps culture while also further developing his skills to save lives. Irizarryreyes Ealey was selected by his command as a Renowned Reservist, a new initiative, highlighting the highest performers across the SMCR.
“I love that the Marine Corps gives me the ability to make a direct impact on my local community that I can see with my very own eyes,” said Irizarryreyes. “The Marine Corps is full of opportunities such as Toys for Tots where you can not only be serving your country- but your local community as well.”
Being a part of the SMCR gives Ealey and other Marines the opportunity to be a part of the Marine Corps community while maintaining careers throughout their daily lives.
Stay tuned to see the Renowned Reservists training as a part of Task Force Arctic Edge 2024. Arctic Edge is a training exercise where Marines take part in cold weather training designed to provide the Marines experience in climbing, military mountaineering, snow mobility, field craft, and survival.
