U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy (WAGB 20) utilizes assist tugs to back away from the pier after departing Base Seattle, Oct. 1, 2024. Healy is the United States’ largest polar icebreaker and the Coast Guard’s only icebreaker designed and equipped with scientific instrumentation by the National Science Foundation to support Arctic research.
