All in the Family…the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps welcomed its’ newest lieutenant commander, [Lt. Cmdr.] Shawn Redmon, currently assigned to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Bangor, promoted December 2, 2024, with wife GeorgAnne and daughter Finley ably assisting with the pinning of his new insignia in front his extended family of MCSF Battalion colleagues, Chaplain Corps officers and Navy religious program specialists. “Proverb 27:17 in the Bible teaches us that, ‘iron sharpens iron.’ That is exactly what has happened for me being stationed here with such leadership,” shared Redmon. “It’s bittersweet in a way. As a lieutenant, there was always a lot of spiritual support provided on the deckplate and front line. Now there will be more of an administrative calling added to the chaplain mission in being there for our Sailors and Marines (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).
