COVID-19 Update
-Current Department of Defense and Air Force Academy policies require all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask when indoors in all Academy facilities, including the press box, Blue and Silver Club, suites, elevators and restrooms. All individuals who have not been fully vaccinated must also wear masks outdoors at all times while on the installation. Fans who are fully vaccinated and are not required to wear a mask when outdoors. Anyone with a COVID-19 diagnosis within the previous 10 days, or any symptoms suggestive of possible COVID-19, or a recent close contact with an individual known to be positive for COVID-19 should not come to the stadium. These policies will be constantly evaluated and any changes will be communicated.
Last Time Out
-Air Force placed third out of the four teams at Sunday’s quad meet on the campus of UC Davis, posting a team score of 193.550.
-UC Davis claimed the top spot overall with a team score of 196.325, followed by Texas Women’s University (194.275), Air Force (193.550), and Alaska-Anchorage (191.900).
–Ayla McKean’s 9.800 on the vault was a career-high for the freshman, as she placed fifth in the event.
-Her 39.050 all-around score was good for third among all qualifiers, nearly matching her 39.100 career-best all-around total. Following a high-scoring day on the floor exercise, McKean’s 9.875 placed her sixth among all competitors.
–Genevieve Sabado was the lone Falcon to place in the four events, as her 9.800 was good for a share of third on the apparatus. She finished sixth among the seven all-around qualifiers.
–Briona Carswell managed a 9.825 on the balance beam, sharing fifth place. Cameo Stapleton’s 9.850 on the floor was her third-highest score of 2022.
Senior Night Celebration
-Air Force will honor its five-woman senior class on Friday against Sacramento State, those seniors being Grace Bardes, Natalie Meyer, Val Smith, Cameo Stapleton, and Daija Stevenson.
-Bardes, a 2021 USAG All-American, has garnered personal bests such as a 9.700 in the vault and a 9.787 on the bars.
-Meyer, a floor specialist, owns a career-best 9.850 in the event.
-Smith, who has exclusively worked the beam during her time at Air Force, has seen her 9.800 stand as her best collegiate score.
-Stapleton, another specialist, was judged for a 9.900 on February 4 of this season, her personal best.
-Stevenson has received nine career MPSF weekly awards and was a 2021 USAG First Team All-American in three events (vault, bars, beam).

“We did some powerful gymnastics. We will go back into the gym and straighten out the little details. We have an extremely young team and are making some uncharacteristic mistakes, however we are on the rise! We will iron out those details and be ready for the tough two weeks ahead of us.
After Sacramento State
-Following Air Force’s dual with Sacramento State, Air Force will head north up I-25 to face off with Denver on Sunday, February 27. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm MT.
