Lancôme Commits to Empower Women with Disabilities
WASHINGTON, March 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8th, Lancôme and Paralyzed Veterans of America are proud to announce a partnership that reflects their shared commitment to ensuring women with disabilities feel seen, heard, and empowered. The partnership includes empowerment events, adaptive products, and an in-store activation.
Lancôme worked with PVA members from across the U.S. on the beta test for its groundbreaking HAPTA device, a handheld, ultra-precise smart makeup applicator for users with limited hand and arm mobility. Leveraging self-stabilizing technology, HAPTA assists users in steadily applying their makeup. As a result, Lancôme is expanding the brand’s commitment to using tech for good and making beauty accessible for all.
In celebration of the partnership, participating Lancôme counters across the country will hand out tote bags filled with select Lancôme products to those who receive a complimentary service on March 8th, International Women’s Day.
“Lancôme is a champion of women’s empowerment, making them the perfect partner as we tackle our shared mission to support women with disabilities in every aspect of their lives,” said Tammy Jones, U.S. Army Veteran and PVA National Senior Vice President. “Women veterans are the fastest-growing veteran population, yet they often feel forgotten, overlooked, and pushed aside. We are working together to empower and help not only women veterans with spinal cord injuries and diseases, like MS and ALS, but all women with disabilities navigate their unique challenges.”
“There is no better time than today to kick off this amazing collaboration with PVA – a day that champions women,” said Ramzy Burns, General Manager of Lancôme USA. “I believe that every woman deserves to be seen for who they truly are – a whole person with strength, beauty, and endless potential. That is what PVA and Lancôme’s partnership is all about. Caring for others is in our DNA, so prioritizing what matters to this ever-growing community is important to us. This partnership is more than a campaign or pledge of support, it is a reflection of our continued commitment to making the beauty industry a force for positive change.”
In 2025, Lancôme and PVA will implement two initiatives as part of their efforts to make women with disabilities feel seen, heard, and empowered. Lancôme will sponsor PVA’s Women Veterans Empowerment Retreat – an annual, multi-day event that focuses on the holistic well-being of women veterans with disabilities. Set for October 2025 in Minneapolis, the retreat is designed to educate and connect women veterans by providing leadership sessions, networking circles, and more – all hosted in a supportive environment. It will also celebrate and support the strength of women athletes through the sponsorship of the 2025 National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Minneapolis in July 2025.
