Thomas Carden, Deputy Commander, U.S. Northern Command, hosted Dr. Dimitri Kusnezov, Under Secretary for the Science and Technology Directorate, Department of Homeland Security, Sept.16, 2024, at the Cheyenne Mountain Complex at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado. During the visit, Kusnezov saw firsthand NORAD and USNORTHCOM’s Alternate Joint Operations Center and participated in discussions on national security and homeland defense challenges, with a specific emphasis on threat detection, situational awareness, and technological innovation.
