U.S. Marine Capt. Ben Moulton returned home to Emmett, Idaho on Feb. 22, 2024, escorted by his family, friends, his dog Buck and hundreds of community members. Moulton, and four other Marines, died in a remote part of San Diego County when their helicopter crashed during a training mission on Feb. 6, 2024. Moulton, a CH-53E helicopter pilot, was 27. Moulton’s remains were transferred from San Diego to Boise on Feb. 22, where an honor guard from the U.S. Marine Reserve’s Charlie Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion conducted the honorable transfer. Members of the Idaho State Police, Patriot Guard Riders, the Emmett Police Department, the Gem County Sheriff’s Office and the Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association helped escort his remains from Boise to Emmett. Moulton moved to Emmett in 2003 and graduated from Emmett High School in 2015. He is survived by his two sisters, Faustine Moulton and Maxine Moulton, and his parents, Robyn and Steve Moulton.
