U.S. Marines assigned to Battalion Landing Team 1/6 board a MV-22 Osprey while conducting a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel (TRAP) drill aboard the Wasp-Class Amphibious Assault Ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during Amphibious Squadron/MEU Integrated Training (PMINT), Jan. 29, 2023. The purpose of the drill was to increase readiness and rehearse procedures during a TRAP mission, where the Marines would be tasked to enter potentially dangerous situations to recover personnel or aircraft and destroy sensitive material.
